5029 Support Group: About Us

We are made up of a young, not so young and always young, very mixed group of people. We have to work, live and sleep in any number of different permutations and times, so it is a requirement to be able to get on with anybody and work as a team. It is great fun though and always very worthwhile. It can be extremely tiring, getting up before the crack of dawn, getting wet, too cold or too hot, filthy and being surrounded by hard/hot metal which always seems to be in the wrong place!

The satisfaction gained from experiencing a Castle hurtling along the mainline, knowing that you have had a part in making that possible, is unequalled anywhere! It is not for the faint hearted though!
